History Of Our Company
A Brief History Living Landscapes roots
actually go all the way back to 1970. The Garden Shop, Inc. opened in 1970 as a retail garden center. Shortly after opening,
minor landscaping services were added and a little later some greenhouses. You may remember The Garden
Shop which was located on Edgewood Avenue in Burlington for over twenty seven years. By 1982, landscaping had grown so much, it was decided that it should operate
independently from the garden center. The result was a new, full time landscape company which was named
Living Landscapes, Inc. The first landscapes were, for the most part, basic designs containing shrubs,
trees and grassed areas. A small amount of mowing and other services were provided. Over the years, more employees and equipment
were added. The projects progressively were larger and more commercial work was added to the residential
work being done. In the early 1990’s, it became quite apparent that more space was needed. The search
was on for a new location. The result was a move, in 1995, to
our present location at 2077 South Main Street (highway 87 South), Graham. This site has allowed us to continue to expand. The Birth Of A Nursery Through rooting numerous cuttings, purchasing rooted cuttings
and plugs, and the purchase of nursery stock from other nurseries, we now have over 400 varieties of shrubs, trees, perennials,
groundcovers and seasonal flowers. New plants are being added and we hope to become the largest source
of nursery stock in Alamance County. "We are excited and proud of our nursery. Please come by and
