Deer are Eating My Landscape HELP!

Discouraging deer can become quite a challenge. You have plants that are already planted in your landscape the deer can’t seem to ignore, well now its time to take action!  Here are a few pointers we recommend:
  • There are several sprays that deer find distasteful; we recommend an all organic spray by Imustgarden Company. It has a clove, cinnamon spicy scent, and is not offensive like most sulfur scented sprays.
  • Hang soap, I know some folks who swear by Irish Spring soap to keep the deer away!
  • Chilly pepper powder, human or dog hair also seem to keep them away.
  • Deer also dislike herbs like Lavender and Rosemary. Plant these near other plants to keep them away, and don’t forget to snap of bits to spruce up your cooking!
  • If all else fails it maybe time to put up a deer fence to protect your investment.
The best way to prevent deer form eating your shrubs is to plant shrubs the deer do not prefer! Below is a list of shrubs the deer are less likely to choose to dine on:

Trees and shrubs:
Abelia, Barberry, Birch, Butterfly Bush, Boxwood, American Holly, Forsythia, Gardenia, Juniper, Mahonia, Privet, Spirea, Nandina, Waxmyrtle,Weigela, Vitex,  Yucca
Annuals, Perennials:
Yarrow ,Monkshood, Bee Balm, Columbine, Coreopsis, Dianthus, Snapdragon, Bleeding Heart ,Foxglove, Hellebore, Lavender, Ferns, Russian Sage, Coneflower, Sage, Lambs Ear, Marigold ,Thyme
